Does ms in the early stages cause constant symptoms? Isn’t it supposed to go away then come back? If the symptoms began months ago and won’t go away is this not ms? Could it be cis?
Multiple Sclerosis relapses/“attacks” (or CIS - which is, of course , Multiple Sclerosis without the multiple) can have effects that last for just days or for months or even permanently. It’s a how long is a piece of string question. I have some effects that have remained for years now - they vary in their intensity (without their worst getting increasingly bad)but never remit absolutely.
Have you actually got off your backside and seen a neurologist yet though? Or are you still under the care of Dr Google?
Well put Boblatina.
But to add my comments, an MS relapse can last for months, gradually getting better. Often there is only partial remission. Sometimes there is no remission. And obviously when we talk about remission, we are dealing with the relapsing remitting type of MS, not secondary or primary progressive MS.
But, in order to even have a discussion about MS relapses, CIS, any variant of MS in fact, one must be diagnosed by a neurologist. So if this is going to turn into one of those interminable threads where we all tell the so called MSsufferer to get referred to a neurologist in order to be tested and the OP argues with us, this will be my only comment on the subject.

I think the OP may have asked this question because he or she is terrified of what they might learn.
Or it could be someone who has been totally mislead…possibly by a so called caring friend or work colleague, and cant bring themself to find out properly.
Can you recall how terrified, confused, upset you were at the very beginning of your problems?
I can and it was horrendous. I actually thought MS was a killer like MND.
I hope MSsufferer hasnt been frightened off.

Is it not true that the longer this goes on, without experiencing the typical relapse remission pattern seen in ms sufferers, the less likely it us I have it? I’m not necessarily saying that’s a good thing either because it just means I have some other incurable progressive condition other than ms.How long does it take to either become paralysed or die from ms if you simply leave it alone?
Please see the previous replies to this and your previous posts. We can’t diagnose you - only a neurologist can diagnose what (if any) neurological condition you have. And NOBODY can predict the future. It is what is and you can only play the cards you are dealt when they are dealt to you. All I can say to you is that I am diagnosed with MS and, last time I looked, I am not dead.
The OP may have posted this because they are scared. This is why we give them the benefit of the doubt and still reply. However, Poll, if you had a look at their previous posts and their somewhat aggressive/offensive responses you might see why some of us are a bit firm in our replies.
Or it could last days and there could be complete recovery, which is a more positive outlook. Where is the evidence that your opinion Is more likely to happen than mine?
I can relate to how worried you are. The last six months have been the hardest of my life and I seem to have aged about 20 years. But if it is worrying you this much maybe it is as well to see a neurologist and find out what is going on?
I very much doubt he has been frightened off Polls. If you read the many, many previous posts, you’ll see he is almost Trolling. The posts are goading, aggressive, argumentative and pointless. Even the Moderators have stepped in and warned that such posts would find him removed from the site.
- Not again.bloody he’ll is this them starting to query everything that we say .oh! By the way I’m not a zombie either ,like the rest of the great people on here I am alive and kicking(well if I could lift my leg).I feel that people on here tried to help you with all their knowledge and good will.get a life will you go get the info you are trolling for on Google…

As someone who’s only started considering MS in the past week, I wasn’t sure whether MS is a killer, and MND is also a possibility to be investigated, and it is worrying so I completely agree. Sometimes people are too scared to find out.
You are absolutely right. Diagnosis/possible diagnosis is absolutely terrifying. That is why places like this are completely invaluable because of the quality information and understanding on offer. HOWEVER there are some people who abuse what is offered and cause grief by what they post. The OP is, unfortunately, one of those people hence the reaction they get. It is certainly not the norm.
You want to bugger off & get a life. Quite a happy little soul aint you, bet its laugh a minuite in your world.
Yes, I gather there’s more to it than meets the eye, after reading some of the other comments, sorry about that. It seems like a very supportive forum.
Sorry guys, my less than helpful at times memory, let me forget we have encountered this poster before.
I was shocked at their question about how long it is before we are paralised and die!!!
I wont be replying to anymore of his or her posts.
