Well hope you all had a great New Years Eve, cant believe its already the 7th January 2017, where did the last year go…
I know this is nothing in the grand scheme of things but for the last 4 days now, my right leg is burning like mad, and my thigh has really bad muscle twitching so bad you can see them its on going all day on and off and is driving me nuts.
Does anyone else get this, and if so what did you do to stop it. I have rarely had issues on the right side but of late my right leg is really misbehaving. Thanks for reading. x
hi
as always ring your ms nurse for advice.
the vast range of neuropathic meds means there is something for everything.
the nurse is the one who knows which one to try.
your gp is more likely to prescribe on the advice of an ms nurse.
amitriptyline is good for calming things down.

Hello
I’ve tended to find burning type neuropathic pain responds quite well to amitriptyline. But twitching sounds more like spasms, so I’d go for baclofen or cloneazepam for that. If it were me, I’d be giving it a little cocktail of all three and seeing what happens. But that’s me, and I have prescriptions for all three anyway.
As Carole said, try your MS nurse (isn’t Carole brilliant at answering people?) or your GP if you need a prescription for something.

Yes, I agree with the above but you could try magnesium first. I used to get twitch legs, especially in the evening but I rarely suffer from that unless I forget to take it. Amitriptyline is great too.

Thanks guys, dont have MS nurse whats one of them. Where i live the queue for one is about 2 years.
I am riding it out for now, if its still issue tomorrow i will ring GP. I have tried all those meds and they made me feel rotten. I wonder if its an underlying virus as i thought i was coming down with a cold but nothing much as yet. I think i will try magnesium too.
Thanks for your help your the best. xxx
