Pain in buttock
Similar here. Not every night, just when it’s bad. Usually worse if I’ve had a more active day.
Specifically my left side and it seems to be concentrated on the SI (sacroiliac) joint. Cold mostly works better than hot (wheaty bag) but also seems to help if they are alternated - not straight on/off but alternate nights, though have done one then the other a couple of hours apart. Trial and error!

I have to use it every night otherwise I couldn’t get to sleep, also my heels are painful so wear a cold wet sock in bed. MS Nurse says it’s Peripheral Nerve sensation down one side. The things we have to put up with
I have to use every night, cold pads on my knees, inner thighs and a cold wet blanket over my feet, I also get bad nerve pain in my face and use a cold wet flannel, its very painful, as you already know.
