i dont want to live like this no more

I dont want to work all week and need to rest at weekend to recover - ive just had 2 days off sick probably because i did too much at the weekend.
i dont want to have to balance and consider what i can and cant do.
i dont want to have to pretend everything is fine - i feel fine when i dont because people dont understand or you get the saying “the less you do, the less you want to do” or “yeah, i feel tired too” or its your age or menopause…
i dont want this !!!

 yeah, none of us do love.

We all have stories of what we’ve had to change, adapt or just plain give up. Whether that be hobbies and interests or careers even. It’s very hard and takes a toll mentally.

You have to find the balance that works for you.

I used to work as a carer and lived my job. The I found it too physically demanding. So I changed to a HCA in a hospital setting, physically easier, but mentally harder and I kept getting confused and lost confidence. Now I work in a care home, but at a desk. I work part time 4 days a week. I still find it hard, but I can manage. It currently works for me, but might not always and if/when it doesn’t, I will find something else that fits.

Look for the balance that suits you.

I totally recognise and understand what you are saying. Living with MS can be brutally tough. Every life, with or without MS is about which compromise we choose or are compelled to make. The impact of MS radically changes our priorities and options, so to adapt and survive or thrive we need to work out what our ‘new’ parameters are. I am not making light of how you are feeling and I know that words on a screen are thousands of times easier to write than to enact. The only person who really knows how you are feeling and what todays parameters are is you. So you need to try to learn what things may or may not work. These things can vary and change rapidly so you need to keep evaluating stuff. I have been doing this for the best part of 30 years and I still get things terribly wrong on occasion, but I have learned to deal with a lot of stuff. If you have close friends or family who can accept how you are feeling this can help. I am not going to witter on about specifics but I will say with some certainty that you will amaze yourself by how you can and will adapt to stuff.
Wishing you all the very best.
