I was on hold to my mobile provider for 35 minutes Monday gone then it took about another 20 minutes to resolve the problem. Not good enough but changing provider will only mean getting bad service from somewhere else
Deep calming breaths are the way to go.

Great blog Don! (Tweeted it).
I’m with talktalk and find them generally ok…although far from perfect.
I hate being put on hold on the phone. Even putting it on speaker doesn’t help much…and the music they play is usually awful…OR even if it’s good music after about 10 minutes you hate it!
Hope you’re having a better day today.
Nice day in London. Blue skies and puffy clouds.

Hello, Don.
In contrast to the lyrics of an old song, “We’d like to be unhappy but we never do have the time,” (A Connecticut Yankee at the Court of King Arthur), being put on hold gives us the time to be thoroughly miserable. Or to use another quote; (Spiros in My Family and Other Animals), “Thems ba5tards”.
I hope you’re feeling better today.
Best wishes, Steve.
Hi Don
I so hate being put on hold, having to contend with the awful music whilst you wait for the inevitable…being told they can’t help, you need so and so department.
Hope today is better for you, and that the painkillers have kicked in.
Great blog as usual, thanks and gentle (((hugs))) from glorious Gloucestershire.

Steve - Had this record - as a child - a 78. Busy doing nothing -working the whole day through - trying to find lots of things not to do. l am busy going no where - lsn’t it just a crime. l would like to be ‘unhappy’ but ----- l never do have the time!!!
l think it was Bob Hope and Bing Crosby.
I’m with BT and when my internet “broke” recently I was ready to commit murder too. You’d swear they never received calls about problems before and then when you eventually get through to the correct department they continuously remind you that if the problem isn’t their fault you’ll have to pay £X, making you a bit concerned about the engineer coming at all.
And afterwards they put you through to someone who asks if you’d like to add to your deal with them. I didn’t want any deals if they couldn’t get my internet working… silly person!!! I needed a new hub, hope your problem is as easily rectified.
I hope you’re feeling better today.

I’ve had problems with BT too, at one point I dropped a complaint as I literally would have murdered someone if I’d carried on. Like Cath I got the ‘we’ll charge you’ if it were my fault and surprise surprise, they hadn’t actually transferred my line!
I hate the stresses they cause so I now just assume it won’t be simple so I don’t feel so disappointed when it sinks

What amused me was the phone was working but no internet, they all went on about charging me if it was my fault. Grrrr still it is back on now but keep dropping out I cancelled the engineer once only to have to go all of the process again the following day you would think I would’ve known better but I was so pleased to have it back I went online and informed them it was mended. Yep you guessed it two hours latter it broke again.
Been wet and windy here in Margate, but I did see some lambs on Sunday. I love sheep.

Customer support are like politicians, you never quite get the answers you want and they don’t always help…
I have worked in technical customer support roles so I can bitch about it from both sides.
Don that’s what my internet was doing - I had to keep logging in as it kept playing about switching itself off, and it was all sorted out with a new hub. And I DIDN’T have to pay as THEIR HUB was the problem. All that stress and aggravation as I too kept cancelling for fear of being charged. I wonder sometimes why I put up with their nonsense, but yes, I’m still with them. Who’s the stupid ones? Yes, that’ll be me!!
The silly mug!
Min they used to be customer friendly now they don’t care.
Great song spacejacket the next time i have bad service be it in a shop or on the phone im going to sing that song it might make me smile instead of getting angry, cheers for that jox
Thinking of dealing with BT customer disservice brings me out in a cold sweat. I use Plusnet now - although they’re a subsidary of BT, I find them much, much better to deal with. (As long as you can bear the “on hold music” - Oasis usually, very loudly.)
Great news BT came out and installed a new router today and it works fine, evidently BT bid an update last week which caused all the old routers to do silly stuff.Well all fixed now. Nice engineer so even if customer service has broke the service from the engineer was A1

Yep th engineer wouldn’t have untill he helped me set up the internet and even offered to get my Kindle and do that for me.
