Hypothyroidism vs MS

Hey guys, those of you who have both hypo and MS. Which symptoms do you have that cannot be attributed to thyroid and can only be MS?

Hello

As I take thyroxine, my thyroid doesn’t really give me any symptoms. A while back I thought my fat feet and ankles (oedema) might have been caused by a change to my thyroid. In fact they weren’t. I actually was in need of more thyroxine but the increased dose hasn’t made a scrap of difference to my feet.

So I’m fairly sure my fat feet are the result of immobility, all other symptoms are caused by MS or other accounted for causes.

Are you diagnosed with both underactive thyroid and MS? What symptoms have you been wondering about?

Sue

I was diagnosed and treated with thyroxine 7 years before my first relapse. My levels were controlled with meds and my MS diagnosis hasn’t changed anything since.
However, I’m now 55 in the middle of menopause and my levels keep changing.
But I have never attributed tany of my hyroid symptoms to my MS diagnosis and subsequent relapses.
