HRT and MS

Hi everyone

I have been prescribed HRT (Climagest 1mg) for menopausal symptoms.

Would anyone be able to let me know if they have been prescribed these as my GP wasn’t sure if it would be ok to take them with MS and asked me to check with the pharmacist whoch I will do but just wanted to find out if anyone here has had experience of them.

Hi Shazzie

I take Climaval and have done for the last 7 years since diagnosis. As I have SPMS, I am not on any DMDs.

I would ask your MS nurse for her/his opinion, they tend to have more experience of these things.

Thanks so much for your reply I really apperciate it.

I checked with the Pharmacist and my MS Nurse and they both said it would be fine so I will give them a go. Good to get rid of the hot flushes etc.

Shazzie,

Google Estriol and MS - it is a very safe hrt that is supposed to actually help women with ms - so a double whammy.

Sharon, Did you look up Estriol and MS. lt was mentioned on here a few weeks ago. Can’t believe we had not heard about it before - seeing as it is discribed as the ‘first’ cause of treatment for women with suspected ms.

I did look it up and it looks really positive. I have never heard of it before.

I am gonna take the first tablet now and I will let you know how I get on. If it helps my MS symptoms then I will contact my neuro to let him know too.
