How long have you had ms please ????

Hi, I have rrms. I was diagnosed 9 years ago with ms. Even though I have had symptoms since 2007. I just wondered how long anyone on here has had ms ?? Thanks for any replies x

Hello First symptoms in 2004 and was told probably MS. Official diagnosis was given only after a second relapse in 2014. So yes, 15 years but you wouldn’t know I have MS looking at me. Very mild still.

I first had symptoms age 14.I have been diagnosed 27 year but i think i have had it from the age of 14.I kept having unexplained bouts of illness that got better after 6 weeks or so.I think i have had MS 47 year, even though diagnosed 27 yr.

1st symptom 1993 - Optic N - not diagnosed as MS 2nd symptom 1994 - Pins and Needles in hands - not diagnosed as MS 3rd symptom 1995 - Pins and Needles in feet - all the tests carried, Diagnosed as MS So 25 years from first symptom. Charlie

Diagnosed 93 - 95, so 26 years…blimey, where did that go??

Diagnosed with ppms November 2018…walking problems and tiredness for about 9 years before that but told it was probably a squished disk. Karen

Hi

First symptoms March 2007 (ON, weakness in left side and general lack of memory) in fairness the neuro team once ruled out a stroke did tell me it was probably going to be MS but even with CT and MRI scans that wouldn’t be enough clinical evidence to diagnose

Second Symptoms in October 2007 - Massive migraines totally crippling alongside severe fatigue and weakness in left side lead to hospitalisation a Lumber Puncture, more scans and a diagnosis.

I know I have been very lucky in that few people get a diagnosis within 8 months

So there we go 11 years + for me and it’s flown past

Hi, First symptoms 1998, Optical issues with left eye. Further symptoms after catching Chicken Pox 2009. Walking problems last 2 years, SPMS Diagnosed Just before last Christmas, 2018. So diagnosed 20 years after first symptoms.

It will be 20 years this year. Crumbs.

Charlie [/quote] Are you me. I’m 25 years since my first symptom. I am 44 now. It’s not been as bad as I feared it would be, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Not sure why that is of interest to you. Are you doing some sort of research?

ah ha, clearly not, I am 45, nearly 46!

RRMS

First symptoms recorded as being in 2007

DX Oct 2016 so about 9 years of problems before a final diagnosis. It was at this point that a lot of the last decade started to make sense.

I replied one of the posts as anynomous. Just prefer it that way. So other ones aren’t me.

Hi, I put the original post up. I have only put one post up. I am not doing research, I am just wondering how long other people have had ms. Thanks x

It is an interesting question to see the ages of people and trends of symptoms that started it all.

I’m 35. First symptoms aged 21. Female. I’m the second anynomous here

Knowing what I know now I reckon I was born with it. In my younger years I just ignored it and got on with life. As I got older I put it down to age. I was diagnosed RRMS 3 years ago aged 55 but that changed to PPMS soon after. I`m quite mobile and my symptoms have decreased since diagnosis { for now I suppose }…

Haha jackievanilla, this made me laugh!

First anynomous answered. So second anynomous altogether.
