hives and ms hug?

has anyone else experienced chronic hives on one side of your chest paired with the ms hug? i cant find anything online about it, but i cant find anything else it could be, they usually appear in temperature or humidity changes just like my ms hug, and i seem to have a permanent one on my hip
im kinda freaking out about it ahah- i know i need to see doctors but ive had so many bad experiences it feels impossible

You might have done this already, but perhaps ask a chemist about an anti histamine to clear up hives.

Hives - NHS (www.nhs.uk)

Not chronic, and i don’t remember it being connected to the MS hug, but back about 25 years ago I went through a lengthy spell of getting hives on my arms, neck, and face if I was outside in the hot sun. After 2 summers, it never came back, but I’ve also been a lot more careful about sunshine since then.

I was never sure if it was part of my MS or if I’d inadvertently gotten into some of the narcotic plants that grew around my yard. One in particular is known to cause a sun sensitivity.

No MS Hug but hives have been the bane of my life for many years. I have fexofenadine 180mg for when they get bad and I regularly take between 10mg and 40mg of cetirizine to head them off. I get them on my arms, chest and sides.

For me they started at the same time as my first MS symptoms (about 15 years ago) and I have seen a number of Dr’s (GP’s) about them as well as my MS specialist and MS Nurses. None of them will associate them with my MS but likewise none will flat out deny they are associated with my MS.

It’s damn frustrating, painful and can keep me awake at night. They can also prevent me from going out (on the few occasions I get invited these days).

If you find someone who will confirm they are a associated with your MS I would love to know but in the meantime I wish you all the best with them and advise you to get some antihistamines.
