Hello! Back in 2019, I was sick. I had this “virus” which lasted for a month. It was at this time when I lost feeling of 4 fingers. They just feel numb and like pins and needles. While I was sick, I couldn’t even hold a pencil or pen. My vision was blurry and I couldn’t hold anything down every time I tried eating. Years later, I started seeing this fog in my vision. The migraines also started. I was sent to the doctor and they did some testing. They said that my optic nerves were swollen, so they sent me to another specialist. This doctor said that it might be normal for my eyes and that if my migraines and tinnitus persisted to come back for an MRI. Currently I am experiencing this shocking pain on my lower back. Pain can go from mild to severe. I went to the doctor and she ordered an XRay, the results pointed out to “subchondral sclerosis on my sacroiliac joints” to this she ordered lab work. My labs came back and I have vitamin d deficiency and other stuff as well. She says that I am showing signs of arthritis or an autoimmune disorder, but no more testing has been done. I still have migraines, eye pain, sleep problems, vision problems from time to time, dizziness, pins and needles on my fingers, etc. A few weeks ago, I started experiencing chest pain. The worst kind of pain ever. I couldn’t take deep breaths. I kept crying. It just felt like something heavy was sitting on top of my chest. Yesterday, I also experienced the same thing for a few hours while I was at work. I feel like there is something off, but at the same time I am afraid that all of this might be in my head or something. I do not know anymore. If you made it this far, thank you!
Hi Einah13
You’ve been going through some tough stuff, and its not ‘all in your head’. That said, keep a diary/notebook of symptoms, what happened, and take this with you to appointments with your doctor(s) going forward.
You need to be seen by a neurologist.
Get another appointment with your doctor (ask for a double slot if need be so you will be slightly less rushed) and if you haven’t already seen a neurologist, ask for a referral (and don’t take no for an answer); A neurologist will be able to look into why the optic nerve(s) is swollen, the migraine, the dizziness, the peripheral neuropathy (numbness in your fingers) etc. that your doctor/gp would not be able to do.
