Help on recommendations for new medication

Hello all, I hope things are as well as they can be. I’m 11 years post diagnosis with RRMS. My latest MRI showed a new lesion on my neck (C1/C2) which would explain the pain in my neck and shoulder and pins and needles radiating down my right arm into my hand. I’ve been given various medication options and I wondered if anyone has tried any of these, any issues with side effects, efficacy etc? Thanks guys xxx

Carbamazepine

Gabapentin

Pregabalin

Duloxetine

the last 3 i hated them they made me feel vile. i go naked now i found it made little difference in the long run, but wiped me out and made me feel weird. however, every one is different.

Hi my wife has had all of them over the years and she says they made her feel even more less like herself then Ms does. She now won’t take anything and said what’s the point of making her feel worse… On a point she now has acupuncture and this is helping her more than any of the above drugs. Also just to say when she was on the mess I could see that she was a different person and family members could see that she seemed to be slower in moving and talking. Hope you don’t mind me saying.

I’m a huge pregabalin fan. I have pretty much every sensory symptom going and it keeps them bearable.

The first month on it was rough because of side effects, but my MS nurse persuaded me to persevere. I’ll be forever grateful for that.

Of course, like any med, it’s not for everyone. Tbh, you’re probably in for some trial and error until you find what works best for you. Personally, I’d recommend starting on a very low dose of whatever you choose and seeing how you get on.

I hope you find something that helps.
