Help needed!! Is it ms?

Well where do I start?? I had a seizure in January and was told by A&E I needed to be seen by a neurologist within 14 days. Well 6 weeks later and still not been seen. Have been doing some research and ms keeps popping up and now am concerned there is a lot more to it. I will add a list of symptoms and any advice would be greatly received… Headaches Pins and needles Have numb patches on legs and feet My fingers ache and at times are agony Back pain Trouble sleeping When I don’t have a headache I have pressure in my head like someone has blown a balloon up and it is pushing to come out Aching eyes and at times weird vision Trouble concentrating and weird sensations in head Pain in legs when I lay down Awful itching especially on thighs and feet Sensation of things crawling over me but nothing there Bladder issues Electric shock pain travelling up left arm beginning in back of hand. Probably other things I will think of later?? Please help!!

Hi Loulou, Welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear about your seizure, it sounds like it must have been very frightening. It does seem strange that despite the referral being urgent you haven’t received and appointment - have you received any communication about this at all? If I were you I would call the hospital switchboard and ask to speak to one of the neuro consultant’s secretary’s. Explain to them that you were told by a and e you needed to see a neuro in 2 weeks, and that you are concerned the referral may have gone astray because it is 6 weeks later, hopefully you will get a kind one who will help you find out why your appt hasn’t come through. If you don’t get any joy there, then make an appointment with your GP and explain about the referral and your other symptoms. DON’T say you have been googling and are worried about MS, just list the symptoms and say you wonder if they might be relevant too. Just to reassure you seizures as a symptoms of MS are rare (as far as I understand it) however, some of those other symptoms do. Equally those other symptoms can be caused by other things too. You really need to get the neuro appt sorted. Also if yoiu have the means there is nothing stopping you getting the GP to refer you to a private neurologist (you can expect to pay about £150 to £200 depending on the consultant/ area of the country) if you choose one who is also NHS as most of them are, they can refer you to their NHS list for further tests/ follow ups. You should get booked in with them within a couple of weeks. Hope that helps, and good luck, Leah

Thank you Leah for your message. I have been on and on at them since it happened. Calling every 3 days. Have finally got an appointment in 3 weeks. Just driving myself mad with worry about it all.
