Help Deciphering MRI

Hi, I am looking for some help deciphering my recent MRI scan and google pointed has me in this direction!

I have had a number of symptoms resulting in my neuro referring me for a head and c-spine MRI last month. I haven’t actually received the results from the neuro yet but I have been able to see the radiologists report of the MRI which states ‘there is a single small area of high T2 signal in the subcortical white matter medial aspect of the frontal lobe. This is rather non-specific. No definite MR evidence of demyelination’

In my very very basic understand I have interpreted this as meaning there is a small area that is potentially a single lesion but there not enough evidence to suggest this is caused by MS at this point - just hoping someone could shed some more light or tell me if I’m wrong?]

Ta!

Where do you live? In the U.K. not all consultants get fixated on MRI scans. The results of a scan do not predict exactly symptoms.
It may be appropriate to work your way through the faq section and take it up with your MS team. Most of us get fixated on our MRI but they are of little practical use beyond diagnosis and determining treatment options.

Also I am in the somerset area

I wasn’t really looking for an idea of the symptoms it would cause, I was just hoping someone might be able to help decipher what my MRI report means, and if the high t2 mentioned could possibly even be nothing like perhaps an artifact?

If we could decipher MRI scans we would be highly paid consultants or radiographers.
Had a quick skim of the faqs. A T2 scan is a particular form of MRI scan.
Any comments you receive here could be more easily found by asking someone over a pint in the local pub. Perhaps we are slightly better, but this really is a question for the professionals.

It is described as just one, and rather non-specific. As many things can cause these - migraine, viruses, high blood pressure etc it isn’t much help towards reaching a diagnosis. So wait for your neurologists report as s/he presumably checked you over and took a history from you.
