Hello again ...

Hi,
I’ve been trying to compile a post without ending up crashing or losing my way !
You see I am using ’ Smart box ’ assisted software which I can control using my eyes.It works well and it’s really just my ability that is questionable !
That and the fact that I’m easily distracted when there’s football on the telly …
I am persevering as sooner or later I may succeed.
So yes, I can suggest that you should get it if it offered to you as an aid as anything that distracts you from the ’ main event ’ can’t be that bad .

Right then I shall try to send this and start a new relationship with the forum *

I am impressed!

Thank you so much for posting this, the only bit of me that still works is from my right elbow down. Only my index finger is useful, the rest of the fingers are just cosmetic now! I use the voice control on my iPad and iPhone, just the standard accessibility feature that comes with them. Guys at the assistive technology Centre here have mentioned the eye control software as one for the future, I’m not looking forward to it if the experience of voice control is there anything to go by. I find it very frustrating and painfully slow, and I imagine the eye control is even slower. But! It’s a damned sight better than not being able to do anything. It’s a real pleasure to see somebody who is using it, it makes the future a bit less frightening :slightly_smiling_face:

Do keep posting :folded_hands: it’s great to hear from you

So, I’m back for more and bypassing the smart box route this time.
I am currently working with this forums platform which is just about ok.
So a bit about me.
I was diagnosed with PPMS aged 50 in 1997 and initially was very slow moving until the Covid era when along with covid ( which I caught in hospital btw ) I then developed an infection in my small intestine which couldn’t be operated on because I was too far gone so I ended up on 'end of life ’ and then a week in a coma before getting sepsis.
From then when something like normality resumed I have never been able to feed myself! In fact from my neck down I am totally persona non gratis ( it is so annoying when you can’t scratch your own nose/eyes)
On the home front I have a wonderful wife who is my only carer. We did have outside care but unfortunately they made a few too many mistakes.
We have been married for 52 years and we have 3 wonderful daughters - Claire (47), Cheryl (44) and Bethan(32). Claire is a teacher up in the Swiss Alps with husband Andrew and sons Luca (18) and Zachary (15).
Our youngest, Bethan, with husband Dan have had a son Hugo (16 months ) and is the focus of all our Facebook chats - brilliant.
Our middle daughter Cheryl has recently been awarded a MBE and an Honorary doctorate from Chester University. (her journey can be tracked through Google )
So there you have a brief look at my other life away from you-know-what.
Bye for now
Regards, Stephen Foster
