hair loss on legs

I am a 63 year old male recently diagnosed with RRMS. My main symptoms are fatigue, difficulty walking and even more difficulty standing still as my legs seize up very quickly when I do so. I don’t take any MS drugs.

I have just been reading the posts from a while ago about cold legs/feet. At bedtime my right lower leg and foot is always icy cold compared to my left.

I have had v hairy legs since I was a teenager. The outside of both calves have become almost bald over the past couple of months and the cold right leg is the baldest. Has anyone else had or heard of body hair loss associated with MS?

Well, I haven’t had to shave my legs in at least 15 years now, but I’m a fair-skinned Swede and just chalked it up to age. I suppose it could be the MS. It does enough weird stuff to us.

Hi Banno

I have heard that some DMDs cause hair loss and got myself in a state because my hair was accumulating in the bathroom plug hole, I did a google and found out that it was Vitamin B1 that I needed. Anyway before I sent for some they started advertising that german shampoo “for women over the age of forty (whispered)”. I think I had over reacted.

Are you spending more time in bed?

I’ve had a bed sore on my right foot and I sleep on my right side so hair loss could be another affect of spending longer in bed.

Less painful too!

Try a new thread asking if anyone else suffers the same and asking what DMD they take.

Sort of DIY research!

Hi, I wish I could lose the hair on my legs…still having carer shave them and I`m 68!

Hi,

I’m 49 and I have exactly the same thing as you with the hair vanishing from the outside of my legs.

I have no idea why it happened and I put it down to getting old and I’ve gone bold on top as well over the years

wish the same would happen to the hair sprouting from my ear lobes, nostrils, back of neck !! hey ho!

Yes! I’d be thrilled to shave my legs again if it would keep me from having to pluck my mustache.

Hair loss is quite often associated with neuropathy, if that’s of any help.

Oh, that’s interesting about hair loss.

I’m a very young , just turned 60, woman and have very few hairs on my legs. Presumed it was just an age thing.

Maybe not?? Maybe it’s related to the drugs I’m on,

MS is the gift that just keeps giving. Well, more throwing things at us!

Take care

Jen

Vitamin E gave me terrible allergies. But I applied it to my skin, so maybe that’s why I had such a reaction.
