Had my 1st neurology appointment and the limbo goes on! Im being referred for an mri of my spine and a lumbar puncture, then they’ll see me again in 4 months.
How bad is the lumbar puncture? I hated the mri but this sounds scarier!

The MRI result initially diagnosed my multiple sclerosis and the Lumbar Puncture reconfirmed the dx of MS.
The LP is alright, pop a painkiller or two b4 you have it done on the small of your back, it lessens the likelihood of back pain later.

Mine was fine. The anticipation was far worse then the reality.

Mine was a piece of cake. Not at all what I expected. I wrote about it in more detail on this forum, if you search for “lumbar puncture read this first”.
Follow their advice about lying down as much as you can in the 24 hours afterwards or you might get a nasty headache, that’s all.

It is scary but no way near as bad as you think it will be. Try to relax and curl up as much as you can. Hope all goes well for you x
