So I had an MRI back in May and 2 months later a letter from Neurologist saying that there had only been small MS related changes since last scan (2019), which is good I guess.
However, he requested the MRI and said he wanted to see me afterwards. So I have been expecting an appointment with him (either in person or virtual, I don’t mind) and am still waiting.
I wrote to him at the hospital because my symptoms have been getting worse over the last couple of years, but because the scan came back relatively ok, am wondering if he doesn’t think it’s worth worrying about/doesn’t believe me/too busy and too many more unwell patients to see first… or any or all of the above.
I am not on any DMTs and just take Gabapentin for nerve pain. My argument is that if I had been given treatment when I was first diagnosed, my vision problems might not have been as bad now, or may have even resolved completely. The fatigue, balance issues and tingling/numbness have all got worse but I don’t feel as though the ‘MS Team’ are taking how I am affected in my day to day life, seriously.
Should I keep pursuing it or just let it go? With the huge backlog made worse by the pandemic, I realise that it’s unlikely I’ll get a Neuro appointment anytime soon, but they shouldn’t keep using that as an excuse to just fob patients off.
