Yay! going back to work on Monday after 3 months off after a monumental relapse (that will be a shock to the system).
Does anyone have any advise ! my employer really does not have a clue they want to discuss my medical report from my GP and the Access to Work Scheme - hum !! I sent them an e-mail back in Sept requesting that I could work from home and gave them a list of suggestions but they didn’t even get back to me ! So now they want a metting to talk about my suggestions err too late.
As far as I am concerned they really have not made any reasonable adjustments etc blah-blah - so if anyone has any ideas ets I would be much appreciated.
Have a fab weekend and don’t do anything I wouldn’t ha-ha
Have you spoken to Access to Work? I’d give them a call, hopefully they’ll be able to give you advice. I use AtW to pay for my taxi to & from work and it’s a real blessing. I’ve been fortunate though to have an employer who has been incredibly supportive and bent over backwards to help me.
I have recently been through these difficulties, I did receive such great advice that I followed it and now feel so much more positive about my working life!
They did refer me to OH and it worked in my advantage.
They need to make reasonable adjustments for you at work; we are protected under the Equality and Disability Act 2010. I also got some great advice from the Disability Law Service.
Employers can put things in place like a phased return to work, working only a few hours for the first couple of weeks and increasing from there on. It is a great help when coming back from a relapse. They also ensure that I have a parking space available now, as before staff members would just park in the disabled bay (including my boss!)
There is a section on here about “Work/Employment” and there is a booklet called “worried and working” I think that’s what its called, download it and give a copy to your employer, I did!
The Access to Work Grant can be used to support with staffing during your phased return to work, as I am currently applying for this too!
