Hi all Gabapentin are making me put on a drastic amount of weight plus making me zombie like. Can I just stop taking them? Julie xx
Hi Julie, I was told not to stop suddenly. Gradually reduce your dose. I gave them up for the same reason.

As far as I know you can’t just stop. I just reduced my dose slowly and got myself off it. It’s not a nice drug. I hated the way my head felt all the time. Sometimes the side effects of the drugs seem just more to handle on top of the MS stuff.

I to have put a lot of weight since being on gabapentin but if you stop taking it what would you use for the pain.im currently on 1800 mg per day.
I don’t have pain. They are for my horrendous jumping legs xx

I’m on Gabapentin for pain and Baclofen for the jumpy legs. Have you tried Baclofen? You should speak to your MS nurse - don’t just stop taking the Gabapentin.
