I have just been diagnosed with this because basically they know there is a problem just not why there’s one.
I have had the symptoms for around 2.5 years - would this be covered under the equalities act due to the length of time I’ve had it?
Sorry, I don’t know. You would probably have to ask if your neuro would support you in requesting adjustments, taking action or whatever you plan. If yes, then I think it’s more likely to be taken seriously. Karen x
Hi anon I would say you are covered. The act specifies; You’re disabled under the Equality Act 2010 if you have a physical or mental impairment that has a ‘substantial’ and ‘long-term’ negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities. The definition of substantial is more than minor or trivial and long term equates to a period of more than 12 months. Hope this helps. Xx
