I am only an occasional visitor to the forum, but since the changeover there seem to be fewer posts and replies, or is it just me?
It always happens after a relaunch, as old-timers like me will remember!
I remember one before the last one, the change then didn’t seem quite as dramatic as this, but that may well be me being older this time round?
I rarely commented before but I’d read more. I rarely even both comming here to read now. Pc+ monitor and this looks like it’s designed for mobile devices with the wasted space to the left and right. Really dislike everything going Smart/Stupid layouts. If places isn’t on tailoring for Smart/Stupid devices thats fine. There are ways to have sites detect the device a user is using and adapt the layout…this doesn’t and makes me feel like I should be viewing it on my phone which is considerably smaller and lacks a full sized keyboard.
On that note I’m off again, only get myself more annoyed the longer I stay staring at just 1/3 of my screen
I like the new layout, but I agree that it’s not as busy as the old forum.
Yes, there is less traffic, but as Alison said, it happened last time the site changed (and apparently the time before that). A change is hard to get used to, so loads of us complained like mad initially, then either decided to cope with the differences or to leave for a while.
The missing may come back, that does happen. Or maybe not. What is apparent is that many new people are finding the site easier and making it ‘theirs’. That’s as it should be really, maybe a natural occurrence when a social media site changes.
There are some good things about this new format. It’s harder to lose a post midway through writing it. Draft messages can be kept, that’s a real bonus. (Maybe it’s magic but somehow I just ended up accidentally logging myself out - so I had to look in my drafts folder to resume this post!)

Hi,
I still read but don’t comment so often.
On the old site I just looked and commented on Everyday Living.
Here, if you click on the 4 horizonal lines top right you get all the forums so too many.
More difficult to follow a thread on this new site.
