Feeling cold all the time?

I have been told that I have Raynards, but feel cold all the time and it getting worse. I know Autumn/Winter is now upon us but its getting me down. Been told that there is nothing they can give me for my Raynards, just wrap up and keep warm, but my husband and children are complaining that the house is like a sauna despite me having thermals and several layers on. Had my thyroid tested several times, but its ok, my blood pressure was low, but since having MS symptoms its now at the bottom of the high range, I am now a size 14 so do have fat to keep me warm. If I do go out I look like a Mitchell man with all my layers on and if I am at home I am spending more and more time in bed with the electric blanket on, fleece pjs and a duvet and a fleece. Sure this is not normal? Could it be an MS symptom? If I have a hot bath I feel warm for a bit but not long, but bath is still too hot for hubbie etc, but then hotness of bath wipes me out.

It’s definitely not normal and should be properly investigated.

It’s not exactly a proper solution, but have you had a look at those sleeping bags suits? It will save the rest of the family from sweating to death at least! My son has one of these and I’ve borrow it from time to time: it’s boiling in there! http://www.musucbag.com/en/index.html Shop about if you’re tempted though - someone somewhere’s bound to have an offer on.

Do see your GP though - you need a referral to someone who can work out what’s going on!

Thanks Karen I have seen my Gp who sent me to Rheumaltologist, who said Raynards, but not all my symptoms fitted, they and Gp pushed for me to see Nuero. Last time I saw Rheumatoligist, they just gave me blood test results, which Gp had already given me, said I did not have Lupus, but my bloods showed something auto immune going on, said they would see me in 6 mths as they wanted to see what Nuero had to say! Told them the coldness was getting worse, told it was because weather was getting colder! Whole appointment was a waste of time, saw the consultant aswell!

So frustrating for you!

Just found this via google: thought you might find it interesting. http://repository.upenn.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?filename=13&article=1003&context=miscellaneous_papers&type=additional&sei-redir=1&referer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.co.uk%2Furl%3Fsa%3Dt%26rct%3Dj%26q%3Dabnormal%2520body%2520heat%2520control%26source%3Dweb%26cd%3D2%26ved%3D0CCQQFjAB%26url%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Frepository.upenn.edu%252Fcgi%252Fviewcontent.cgi%253Ffilename%253D13%2526article%253D1003%2526context%253Dmiscellaneous_papers%2526type%253Dadditional%26ei%3DNj6JUJ6JOOna0QXy7IHoBA%26usg%3DAFQjCNGbiKjB4HcsViLO-lge2msG0-vzBw#search=%22abnormal%20body%20heat%20control%22

Perhaps it might give your GP some ideas too! There must be something else he/she can do while you wait for the neuro appointment?

I am also feeling the cold and it is making my shoulder, arm and hand feel very achey and stiff. I feel better in a hot bath or shower, but once I’m out, my arm aches. Just been to Aldi and bought a heated throw and a set of thermals to keep warm!
