Feeling anxious about waiting

Hi everyone I’ve just joined because I’ve been referred to a neurologist for possible MS but there is a 12/18 month wait :disappointed: I was hoping to share some of my symptoms to see if you have had any?

Last summer I went to the gp because it felt like I was sat on my phone, a buzzing sensation in my bum! It lasted about 3 weeks.

I’ve had 3 lots of an intense vitamin d course as my levels were so low.

This summer I presented twice to the walk in centre because I felt like I couldn’t breathe, it felt like someone was pushing on my chest and this lasted a couple of days at a time for about 2 weeks.

Tingling and electric shock like pain in my hands and toes.

Feeling of water running down my calf (happened once a few weeks ago)

Unable to concentrate like I used to.

A burning sensation in between my shoulder blades not related to movement.

A feeling of a lump in my throat and feeling like I can’t swallow properly (even though i can)

Recent bloods showed elevated levels of ESR and CRP.

In the last 4 days if I put my arms down by my side and raise my right hand slowly there is a slight ?tremor but I’m not sure and I don’t know if I’m making these symptoms worse in my own mind!

It’s so hard because I have 2 boys (9+2) and I worry what their lives will be like if I do have this disease.

I’d be grateful for any advice x

Hi sweetheart.

I understand your fears.

Your symptoms could be MS…as well as other things.

25 years ago, I had MS like issues and there was a 10 month waiting list. So, like many others, I went private and saw a neuro 2 weeks later.

I believe it is still about £200 to do so. What do you think?

I have looked into going private and something I’m considering seriously, just a matter of saving up.

It doesn’t help being so anxious regarding health and not knowing if it’s my mind playing tricks on me. I wouldn’t want to take a valuable appointment if that was the case x

Hi again. You are as important as anyone else who has health concerns.
