Fatigue

I know everyones symptoms are different on all levels. So far I haven’t really been bothered by being too tired…until now =( I am just exhausted for no reason. Sometimes I’m up all night ( in spite of taking my slep meds) or there are times I’ll nod out just being here on line. It seems to have gotten worse since I started walking on my treadmill ( 45 min each day, brisk pace). I am undiagnosed. Have many symptoms. Thoracic and Cervical MRI on the 6th. Boy this FATIGUE is just kicking my butt!!! Does it mean flair? Do you all deal with it all the time? Does it come and go?? I don’t like it =\

If you are up all night at times and nodding off during the day some days, the fatigue may be due more to insomnia and a poor sleep cycle than whatever’s causing your symptoms. It is possible to get fatigue-only relapses though.

I don’t really have any smart ideas, but in case it’s insomnia/sleep cycle causing it, here are some possibly silly ideas to try: perhaps sleeping pills are not a great idea or you need new ones and/or you need to move your exercise time and/or try hot cocoa and/or going to bed and getting up at fixed times and/or reducing nap times during the day and/or you’re doing too much and you need to cut out some of the excess. For some better ideas, it’s probably best to ask your GP

Some of us have bad fatigue all the time, yes. It’s the most common symptom of MS :frowning: However, not everyone has it, some people only have it some of the time and it varies in its severity. There are coping techniques and things like exercise, CBT and meds can help too. It’s amazing what we learn to live with too!

Thanks dear! After I re read the insomnia/ fatigue didn’t make much sense ={ The insomnia comes in spurts…the fatigue just HIT and HIT HARD!! I do get what your saying with everything else =) And it all makes a lot of sense. Describe MS fatigue for me…anyone??? This is like nothing I’ve ever felt…

I agree with Rizzo, although she always talks great sence.

I have fatigue, The wife and I never thought it was a symptom as I have always had sleep issues but it is and it does.

I can sleep for 12 hours and ake up tied or have a broken sleep and wake up tied, I never wake up and think yeah that was a great sleep. I have tried exercise although I am trying pacing which ME suffers use, although this doesnt help. I rested all day did nothing on saturday just to have the worst day on sunday for my walking, pain and tiedness so all in all, try what Rizzo said and if not get to your docs. I went to my docs and he said im wasting his time and my own go and see the nuro, the nuro sent me to the docs as she didnt have the time for me ha ha. limbo land and roundabouts, we all know it to well but we are all hear for support,

Thanks so much, support means a lot
