Hi,
I have been using Copaxone for around 8 months now and whilst I feel a lot better on it now than when I started I still get red blotchy areas around the injection site. They can be sore and raised for days. I have tried moving the depth of the needle when using the injector aid but it doesn’t seem to make much difference. I use a compress and started using witch hazel gel to sooth the area.
I just wonder if anyone else has the same issues with it or can give any tips on what I can do?
We are going abroad in July and I don’t really want my injection sites to be visible when wearing a swimsuit.
Also does anyone know where I can get/buy an insulated small bag/pouch that can keep the medication cool? The one I got from my nurse isn’t insulated.

Hi I have been using Copaxone for 3 months and I am having the same problems itchy blodges that last for days. I also felt like last night I went all flushed and couldn’t breath properly. I am scared to take my next dose.
Do you need a letter to travel with your medication I’m due to go to Mexico in August. I also need a little cooler to travel with xx
Hey, it does get better. You just need to get the depth right with the needle if you are using the injector helper thing (I cant mind the name of it). I tried taking some injection sites out as it wasnt great in my legs but I added them back in after a few months. I suffered from high temperatures for a while after starting the injections but they stopped thankfully. Try a warm wet cloth before the injection and a cold one for afterwards and try witchhazel gel as it can help sooth the area.
Yes you will need a letter from your doctor/neurologist to travel with the injections for flying.
I would also like a travel cool pack/pouch but havent found one yet.

I managed to get a small cool bag from Amazon, I think I searched for ‘Insulin cool bag’ in the end as was finding it hard to get one. It came with small ice packs to slide into the sides.
