I have, this morning, received a lovely brown A4 envelope through the post! It is basically a DLA review “to determine whether you (me) arre receiing the correct rate of DVLA.”! I have never received one before and it frightens me. I currently get higher rate DLA for mobility and middle rate DLA for care. Ths has been the case for some years now and I have a motobility car. Is this common or is it unusual?
I have recently (December 2012) been awarded ESA in the support group. Do the different departments for DWP not talk to each other?!
Can’t believe the imediate increased stress that I feel upon the receipt of this.
Echo
unfortunatley both departments dont talk to each other, it would be so much easier if they did, i know how much stress its causing you as ive not long had a assessment for esa, try not to stress too much as itys not fair on you or your health, id suggest to put it away till tomorow, just try to de-stress today and forget about it, then tomorow, take a look at it and start to go through it, then just keep taking breaks, thats what i had to do when they send me forms n things, i leave it till the next day, go through it, then keep taking breaks with it, that way it should help cut down the stress on you, i know its off topic, but have you got a oil burner? if so, try lavender oil in it, that should help you relax aswell, i used to use that alot, but cant now as i have a nosey candle sniffing cat that doesnt learn that candles melt his whiskers lol, so just try to relax and de-stress today, it mite help.
Echo Take a look at www.benefitsandwork.co.uk it cost’s just under £20.00 to join but well worth it for the advice it offers with these forms. Also make sure you keep a copy of what you send back. xx
Hi Echo, I received a review form last August, I like yourself had been on HRM MRC for some 15 years, anyway I went to welfare rights and they filled the form in for me, I took list of current medications asked gp for letter of support which I was given and take any other supporting letters if you have physio etc. I heard nothing at all until about 11 weeks in when they said they were asking for further information fom my consultant, I waited and it was 17 weeks and I got a letter to say my award wold remain the same and for the same period. I suppose you could look at it another way saying that you will be reviewed under dla as once April comes people are reviewed under the PIP guidelines. If what is written on the net is correct it appears if you have dla on indefinite these are not being reviewed under PIP until October 2015 unless they have cause to review a person I suppose. Take care and if you want to ask me anything feel free to pm me.
Hi, I have been on high rate mobility, middle rate care indefinitely since 1996. About three years ago I got in forms for a review(that was the first and only review I have ever had). That was in the days before I used this site so I had n’t read any stories of people being refused benefits so I wasn’t worried. Tbh, I just filled in the form that afternoon while the children played around me (I hate leaving jobs like that lying around waiting to be done) I just gave short answers (which is my style) bunged it in the post and sent it off. Some weeks later they wrote back to say they were keeping me at the rate I was at which I was happy with. This experience seems different to others experiences on here so maybe you should follow some other advice. I am just telling you that it is possible for the whole thing to go along in a stress free way. Good luck wtith it. Cheryl:-)
