Looking at the symptoms for MS I have had severe leg pain particularly in my right leg, dizziness, problems with my eyesight, muscles i my legs when in bed and my legs sometimes give way.
I saw the GP today about my eyes and a problem with periods, I am 55 and asked about the leg pain, last Summer I had very severe pain in my right leg for 3 months and the GP said he couldn’t help.
I was diagnosed as having a general anxiety syndrome some time ago and this implies I am prone to exaggeration and hypochondria.
In 2004 I had severe leg pain and was told it was shin splints. I have artritis and was told that I had a condition spina bifida occulta. i have had bowel problems and do get very depressed and agitated. i am also getting forgetful.
Can anyone offer any advice on what I should do next?
Keep getting at your GP that you want a referral for all your symptoms. They always blame anxiety and depression as the cause don’t let them. You must fight otherwise you’ll never get anywhere. A lot of people of here and everyone are in the same position and I am one. I’ve seen many neurologist now but it was a battle. You deserve someone to at least look into it. I hope you get some joy soon. Poppy
Hi, have you had a brianm/spine MRI yet? You need that at the very least, I don’t see how they can rule anything out until thats done.
Poppy is right, it can be a real battle but you have to keep pushing.
Good luck with it all xxx
Just come back onto the website after my post in March. Thank you Bunny and Poppy for your advice. I am struggling and your time replying means a lot to me. I am not alone. We need to know why we feel like this what the cause is.
Am going to go back to GP.
