Hi, has anyone had any experience with Deep Brain Stimulation for tremor? My husband’s intentional tremor is out of control and whilst the drug he has been prescribed has dampened it ever so slightly, its having a drastic impact on him, physically and emotionally. When we discussed with neurologist it DBS was dismissed with ‘this is not for people with MS’ however i have found that this is not the case and there has been success, particularly in a unit in Newcastle? Really just want someome to give an assessment to see if he would be a suitable candidate. We dont underestimate the potential risks involved but he is young and doesnt want to go out or see anyone as this is impacting his life so much. Just looking for some examplea we can go back with. Thanks in advance x
Hi, I`ve seen this done on people with Parkinsons.
But they did say it wouldnt suit everyone with tremor.
You need to find a neuro who operates on those people.

some people with ms have had this treatment but the initial success has been limited with symptoms returning within 3-6 months.

Thank you, I think we’d just like to get in front of an expert to talk us through the pros and cons, so that if it was available my hubbie could make an informed decision. Anything is worth a shot as long as it didn’t do any damage. Thanks again x
