David Cameron speech
Morning all, just reading Mr Cameron’s speech on BBC news website and was very interested in his last point, “the long term sick will be expected to take steps to improve their own health” Now nobody told me he had a cure for me. I’m going to write to him today for the magic potion ( I’m hoping that gas is not involved!) Still, if he doesn’t have it, of course my unsteady body, lack of memory and inability to spell now, even though I have a very good honours degree in English, will prove very attractive to any prospective head teachers who would be stupid enough to empty me. Ho hum, come on fellow msers, what steps would Mr Cameron have you take?
what a jolly kind man he is, its like getting permission to grow my own cannabis instead of having to get sativex on private script every couple of months and living off value beans forever more! what a toss pot! what really bugs me is that 75 quid of my private script is vat. it should be vat free like my recliner chair and other aids. cant help but feel soylent green is looming…

if like me you would like to tell the tosser exactly what you think of this heap of excriment here is the web page you nead https://email.number10.gov.uk/Contact.aspx James

Me too. Nasty piece of work ( when I say work I mean sh!t ). Thanks for bringing this up, I missed it but then the odd time I see him on tv, I’m so busy shouting at him I can’t hear what the u-turning, turd says anyway.I’m beginning to loathe him as much as Thatcher, and I really didn’t think that was possible.

I’ve emailed him, although you are limited to 1000 letters, but did ask him what else he thinks I should do to take responsibility, so if I get a reply with any helpful suggestions I’ll let you know.

Wonder if the Society will say/do anything?

mmm ok realy dont get why my phone keeps doing that. Thats the 3rd post in 2 days thats ended up on the boards twice.

Conservatism is truly frightening but someone on here must have voted for them; well you get what you vote for.

I can’t see how the Glen Miller bands way is a lot better; should have realised when the Labour Party dropped clause 4 and the word Socialism what was o the cards.

What we have to realise that if Scotland vote for independence we will always have a Tory Government.

I’m a strong believer in the Billy Brag way out of our financial problem.

The way they use Quantative Easing (QE) is entirely wrong. The idea is The Bank of England (BoE) prints money, gives it to banks who should then loan it to businesses enabling them to employ more people and creating growth.

But surely growth comes from business selling their goods/services and creating profit? The business will then earn sufficient money to employ a person; that is the way to create growth.

An alternative: give everybody above the age of 16 who earns below £60,000 per year £2,000. They will spend the money on bills, rent/mortgage, consumer goods etc. making profit for businesses and thus creating growth. If they put it into a savings account that is doing exactly what the BoE are doing. This would cost about 20 billion pounds but it should be remembered that the BoE has given the banks over 300 billion in QE so far.

In the long term the Robin Hood Tax must be implemented. A less than half 1p in the pound tax on every transaction involving bonds, derivatives etc. (not in your high street bank) would raise £100 billion per year (see http://robinhoodtax.org/)

While we have a Chancellor who equates the country’s budget with that of a household budget saying “in times of austerity we must cut back on our spending” we will have a long, bleak future.

The answer to any bank that wants to move to, say, Hong Kong is simple. If they move they will not be allowed to operate in this country. I’m sure you would get agreement on that in the EU.

Cameron will turn more and more right wing; even the austerity measures taken at present will not be enough; the do-do hasn’t hit the fan yet I’m sorry to say.

George

I have been a labour supporter since I first voted in 1979, but I think Cameron is only saying what we all know. It is up to us to do what we can the get as well as we can, Tina posted earlier about strugling to get a doctors appointment and heavily indebted hospitals funded using PFI are starting to go bust. Tax receipts are falling and if you read berween the lines Mervyn King is pointing to a depression. Panorma this week showed what is like in Greece at the moment, that is coming our way the Country lost £18bn this month alone. I think he is giving us a “heads up” to the future, whoever is in power. We have got used to financial support and healthcare that are no longer sustainable just look at America. It’s a bit unfair to shot the messenger either the Prime Minister or Me! On a bright note those that can enjoy the sunshine, it’s free.

All the best,

Peter
