Sounds familiar!

Hi I wonder if anyone can advise me as to how to get a doctor to take my symptoms seriously. I had one doctor who did and was arranging for me to have tests, but unfortunately due to a move I have had no success ever since. Doctors look at my individual symptoms but never the symptoms as a whole. Individual jigsaw pieces but never the complete picture! Most of my diagnoses have been anxiety, depression and unexplained pain. I have been unwell for more than half my life and am nearly 60. I really would like some help. Suggestions would be welcome

I believe it’s caused by a Cytokine ‘storm’. Where the immune system just goes nuclear and attacks everything around it. It doesn’t affect everyone in the same way, but those poor bu**ers who’ve had severe reactions like this can end up like us! I originally thought we might be safer than most because of our dodgy immune reactions, but it seems it may well be otherwise. Certainly not everyone with an autoimmune disorder/disease has this sort of reaction to the virus (thankfully), and it doesn’t appear to be hitting MSers more than the average healthy individual (or that’s what I think Prof GG said in one of his videos). There’s been stories of otherwise fit young people having terrible long lasting damage from the virus.

Sue

those with neurological problems due to covid-19 know why they have these problems but is the only difference between them and pwms the fact that pwms don’t know what caused their immune system to go awry ??

would an MRI scan of a person who has had covid-19 be similar re lesions etc to an MRI scan of soemone dx’d with m.s. but who never got covid-19 ?
