I’m sure we are all concerned about the impact of coronavirus in this unchartered territory. I’m a little surprised that there have been no updates from the MS society or about those who are on DMTs that suppress the immune system.
im wondering that when the government announce isolation for the over 70’s whether that will include people who are immunosuppressed too??
Does anyone have thoughts on this?
The government say the “elderly & people with underlaying conditions”, now correct me if I’m wrong but couldn’t MS be regarded as an underlaying condition ?
Especially as its considered as an auto immune disease.
I can remember ever so clearly being in hospital for a week just before Xmas due to picking up the NoroVirus, that absolutely triggered a massive flare up in my MS.
Surely this Corona virus would have a more serious effect if someone with MS picked it up ?
As for the MS Society keeping us to date, I cant see any obvious link on the site to direct us up to date info specifically about the virus, you have to click on the “home” icon to get direct to the sites home page and theres a write up about the virus.
Unless I’m looking in the wrong places ?
I dont think anyone knows what Corona virus is. Certain opinions are made public others dont say a word apart from stating the obvious.
If it was understood a solution would have been released by now.
Or is it a manmade big secret?
Hello, I was contacted by my hospital last week and told that they are cancelling my Ocrevus infusion in April. The reason was because this drug can weaken our already messed up immune system, so we are more at risk of getting coronavirus. I really dont know what to do in terms of self isolation because could be at home for weeks whilst this is going on! Also i dont understand what happens in terms of sick pay, as i would be able to work from home which should just be normal pay. very confused!!
