Hoping someone out there can help me!

Been experiencing a range of neuro symptoms - headaches, feling spaced out, sore legs, pins and needles, tingling and numbness in all areas of body - arms, leg and back especially.

Clear Physical exam apart from slight wobbling on Romberg test.

Was told by neuro that MRI was fine, not MS and discharged being told that it was neuro muscular due to a virus/anxiety.

Been to see my GP this evening about something else and he had a look at my MRI report which said I had 1 irregular shaped lesion and my result was inconclusive. He said if Neuro thought it was anything untoward, they would have done further testing.

I’m worried sick now - Can anyone help on this?

Suzanne.

I would think that the neuro wasn’t worried which is why you were discharged. I had the same thing in 2010 but didn’t check it out, I just accepted the neuro’s decision. I still suffer neuropathic symptoms 2 years on & only just pushing for a 2nd referral. I would suggest that you discuss further with your doctor if you are worried. Usually because MS and other things like lupus are difficult to diagnose, often it’s a waiting game until new symptoms arise and you go back for more tests. Don’t worry yourself sick about it, if you are really concerned, get back in touch with the neurologist and ask for an explanation. K

Thank you for replying.

I’ve had the symptoms for 8 months now with no remission. I had begun to accept that it may be down to anxiety but this has sent my mind into overdrive. I know that lesions of MS do allegedly ‘look’ a certain way on the MRI but can lesions be caused by other things?
