Cold leg and foot

Hi

I’m new to this forum.

I have been diagnosed with MS a couple months ago and unfortunately having first relapse since diagnosis. Doctor has given steroid tablets which i have taken for first time today.

I was looking for a bit of advice please. So I’m having a hard time walking but since i have seen doctor my leg and foot has been really cold to touch. Is this all related?

Thanks for reading and any advice is much appreciated.

Stephanie,

I believe (could be wrong) that the secondary nervous system is related to feelings of hot or cold, so with MS compromising bits of our nervous system it can lead to all sorts of weird stuff. I seem to have different temperatures on different bits of my leg. I also have times when it feels cold as a limb, but if I touch it with my hand the temperature seems normal. I can’t always trust the sensation. If you have just started a course of medication and there is a coincidental change in how you are feeling, make a note of the time and circumstances so that when you next see the doctor you can confidently say this is what happened and when.
Good luck
Mick

Hi, you don’t mention anything about foot drop so I presume you haven’t got it. I have foot drop in my right foot/leg and my foot is always freezing. I can’t feel its freezing unless I feel it with my hand/other foot. Do you have full function of the cold leg?

I think the MS nurse did mention foot drop but she wasnt sure and is sending me to physio. Same i cant feel it cold unless i touch it. The leg thats cold is the leg im having difficulty walking with.
