Ciprofloxacin side effects

Hi there,

My hubby has a suprapubic catheter and the district nurse says there are leukocytes in his urine. The GP has prescribed 500mg Ciprofloxacin.

I know that if he takes them at the 500mg strength it makes his legs VERY weak. In the States there is even a Black Box grading against these meds… Have you had these side effects by taking these tablets?

The GP will be contacting us and hopefully change to a 250mg strength.

Hi Caz,

I’e had it. I’ve just finished a week of 500mg Cafalexin. Both generally leave me feeling worse before better. They leave me exhausted and unable to do much of anything. Oh and they give me thrush! Next time I’m going to ask for thrush treatment at the same time. I have SPC too.

When I got home he had in fact been given Cefalexin 500mg also and so far so good.
