Im getting increasing confused regarding the different diets at the moment but one thing im sure of is to decrease the amount of saturated fat, although I feel I need sweet, chocolate things … I found today a raw brownie mix on the deliously ella website . Now I dont do nuts normally but this includes dates, nuts , maple syrup and coco powder. Ive got to say they are amazing and taste like pure chocolate brownie and they are healthy. Cant believe so thought I must share. If any one else has any ideas please share. Also re diet, I think to reduce fat is good but what about dairy , meat, gluten etc as all the diets aimed for ms are different, so confused. Xxx
Hi Zoe Thanks for sharing the website - the recipes look brilliant. Have you tried Nak’d bars? You can get them from most supermarkets (I order online with my tesco shop). Jane x
There have been lots of articles recently about how they’ve been getting it wrong for years re: saturated fats, in that we actually need a certain amount of saturated fat in our diet. I’ve come to the conclusion that if you use an ‘everything in moderation’ attitude, and eat a variety of things as close to their natural (non processed) state as possible, you should be ok. You never really know what goes in to something unless you cook it yourself.
For myself, I would choose quality over quantity any day, and would far rather (for example) use butter sparingly, than any amount of tasteless low fat spread. I’m very fortunate to not have a sweet tooth, but I think if your body craves something, it probably needs it (within reason regarding sugar, as apparently it’s now considered to be addictive ;-)), so if I have a craving for chocolate, I feel no guilt whatsoever reaching for a good quality (high coco solid) choccie bar.

Ooh as a choccie addict I need this recipe, but I’m not sure I am looking at the right one. When searching on brownie I only get a cheesecake brownie or sweet potato brownie. Is it one of these?
Oh and to answer your question, I am as confused as you about diets. I have almost cut out dairy (apart from chocolate) and have soya or almond milk instead, cut down on meat and have quorn instead, and cut down on gluten having gluten free where possible, but I still have some granary bread.
Sounds similar to me puddinglover, its under raw brownie xxx
Found it thanks. Looks yum, can’t wait to try it. How did you convert cups to weights, as it seems to depend on what it is?
I just used a normal coffee, tea mug and worked well xxx ill let you know if I try any of the others the only thing that we may need to change in some of the recipes is coconut oil as this is high in saturated fat.
Oh and use the almond milk she advises as it has not got any nasty additives added it called rude almond milk. I found in waitrose. Xxx
My name is Stephen and I’m a chocoholic
