Chiari 1 Malformation

Hi all, looking for some shared experience of the above. I had an MRI 5 weeks ago - my first since diagnosis in March 2022. Last MRI was January 2022.

My RRMS seems to be behaving on Tecfidera - and my consultant is quite reassuring in the letter.

However, it does say that I am known to have a Chiari 1 Malformation, with no evidence of syrinx which is also unchanged from last imaging. I’ve never been told I had this, I had MRI’s in 2009 and last year and nothing has ever been mentioned.

I’ve (obviously) consulted Dr Google because the letter has arrived today (Saturday) and with it being a bank holiday, I won’t be able to speak to anybody until at least Tuesday. From what I’ve read, it can be picked up on imaging for other reasons which is the case for me - but I’m jumping to the worse case outcome and now wondering if this is something waiting to implode.

Does anybody have any rational knowledge or experience of this? To say I’m annoyed that this has never been mentioned is a bit of an understatement!
