Careline not to be confused with Homeline

This is a complete field of nightmares. I’ve been told I now need a carer and the local council careline are coming to assess me. Ive not heard great things for example normally they shouldn’t take partners earnings or house capital into account but evidently they do. Equally they ask for contributions (give one and take with other) if agreeable to the care plan I most definitely don’t want an agency, however it would seem with direct payments if your lucky enough to find someone you have to pay their pension/salary, you have to get employers liability??? Stressed thinking about it all- HELP
