Hi Sus,
Summer footwear and FES is always a challenge. I have recently been trying to find posh sandals to wear at my daughters wedding but the insole with the footswitch seems to push my foot up and so sandals dont fit.So I have gone for glittery pumps.
I have tried adjustable walking sandals that work well.!!!
This year I have been using lace up canvas pumps and even hightops in bright colours from Rocket dog when they had their sale.
Having said all that I am very thankful for my FESs.
I hope you find something that works for you.
Best wishes

With the walking sandals, did you find the innersole worked its way forward? That’s what I’m concerned about with having open toe shoes, that my innersole is going to be flapping around and I’ll look like I’m clowns shoes
The FES is a pain when it comes to footwear, the only thing that worked for me was lace up shoes. I tried the gladiator sandals and they didn’t work for me. You can get some really nice Mary Jayne ballet shoes with a strap, I had some from Clark’s , they’re really Pretty, but not cheap, I wore them with a gypsy dress for my son’s graduation. I had them years ago, but they were a good sturdy nubuck leather, in a pinky/beige. Ajvani (they have an eBay site, and also on Amazon) Women’s ballet strap shoes are really comfortable too, but not as sturdy as the Clarks (I’ve had a look, but can’t see any on their website). Maybe worth a trip to Clark’s and see what they’ve got.
Hi, I use a FES and can wear sandals. I tape the foot switch down well and it seems to be fine. I cant wear my foot brace unless I have lace ups so I dont wear the sandals if there is much walking to do, but if its just to go to my mums etc or sit for coffee its nice to have cooler feet, Ali
Hi Susie, I never thought of taping it down, I would imagine it would work ok because it’s about the pressure, so when you lift your foot you’ll get the zap, and when you put your heel back down it switches off. To be honest I gave up on the FES, I found the wiring a nightmare they would always pull out of the pads, and I found I was tripping over my foot, I lost confidence with it and went back to my splint.
Hi Sus
I know what you mean about the insole moving forward, not a good look.
I think its just trial and error. Some sandals have worked if they are close fitting on the ankle and a thin insole that doesnt crease up. I have even tried cutting the insole at the top to make it smaller in the sandal.
Or I agree with everyone else taping the footswitch to the base of your sandals would work .
Oh if only we were talking about 4 inch heels,!!! Never mind its so good to keep mobile.
Best wishes
