Hi trying to cut a long story short, about 10 years ago I started getting pains in my legs and had loads of tests vascular rheumatology and then more tests as I started getting other symptoms headaches, fatigue, generalised pain and was diagnosed 7 years ago with fibro as nothing else had been found. I have had a Ct but never an Mri. I in the last year have increased symptoms, double vision, dizziness, awkwardness constantly badly bruised, worsened headaches, and tingling in my hands and feet plus lots of others that come and go. I have been to my doctor with new symptoms and she had an xray of my hands due to hand and wrist pain which didn’t show anything out of the ordinary and she put it down to the fibro. My life has changed I am an active busy person normally and I no longer can manage that life. I guess what I am asking is does this sound like symptoms those of you diagnosed with Ms recognise and if so any advice on how to address this with my doctor. I am quite shy and struggle so when the Doctor does not seem to listen I just leave her office and hate the thought of wasting people’s time but something isn’t right. I feel as if I am losing control of my body. Any advice would be truly appreciated x

Sounds as though you’ve had a lot of different symptoms, with pain. Have you been prescribed anything?
MS is so difficult to diagnose, usually by eliminating other things.
My suggestion is to write a symptom diary.
Date - symptom and how long it lasts.
You could ask Dr if it sounds like MS and ask if you can have an MRI - that would show lesions if it’s MS.
Hope it isnt MS and you get relief of some symptoms.

Thank you goldrat, Originally I was on amitrytilene (sp) but didnt get on very well with it and as pain levels increased I was put onto Tramadol which I have been on for about 4 years now.
The diary is a good idea I will start one it might make it easier to get across to the Doctor in black and white.
I work part time now, have always worked full time but now just cant cope with full time work and days off are often spent recouperating for next work shift.
Lots of the symptoms appear to crossover with Fibro but some of the symptoms are becoming so life altering I feel like more needs exploring.
Hi, fibro can be blamed for lots of conditions…and I know folk with it and yeh, huge problems and pain levels.
MS can also be a doozy to diagnose. Took me 22 years to get my Spinal PPMS diagnosed.
I think an MRI would be in order, but it is up to your GP and a difficult doc can be a hurdle. Is there another doc in the practice you could approach?

Thanks Bouds Have started a symptom diary and once we are past the worst of Covid I’ll make an appointment to talk over with the Doc. There has been a big turnaround in our surgery lots of older Docs retiring so lots of young new Doctors so may see if I can see one of them. Armed with my diary even tho it will not be that long timescale wise it might help me broach it and put a name to my concerns!
Hello. I’m slightly worried about my current health. Since some time I’ve had regular massages to help reduce headaches and neck pain which I’ve put down to stress. In the past few weeks I’ve had what feels like diaphragm muscle spasms when I relax in bed at night. I say diaphragm as that area of my body spasms or freezes when I breath in and takes my breath away for a few seconds. Lastly, yesterday morning I went to feel very warm and sick. I then passed out and my partner tells me my arms and back went into an extremely stiff spasm, my chest and head went bright red and I then came round after 30 seconds or so. Since yesterday morning, and still this morning, my arms, back and legs feel like I’ve been knocked over. I’m struggling to move. I very much appreciate from what I’ve read here that early MS signs can considerably vary, but can anyone relate to these symptoms. I am getting very concerned now. I’m 50 next.

Hi Welsh…mmm those symptoms do sound worrying. Passing out isnt a usual MS thing…not one I`ve heard of anyway,
Have you sought medical advice before this passing out episode I mean?
Dont think I would put this down to MS…but you never know with this beast.
Seek a doc`s appointment.
