Brain playing on me? Possible MS, awaiting MRI

Hi,

I am new to this forum.

I’ve recently saw a neurologist because of my shoulder / arm pain and weakness in right arm.

Couple of days before neuro appt. I went to Specsavers to renew my glasses and they found that my optic nerve in right eye is swollen and refer me to eye casualty clinic. Eye casualty said that it’s not swollen and booked a follow up after a week.

I had my neuro appt afterwards they said that my arm reflexes looks fine however my right leg isn’t. He checked my eyes as well and said that he can clearly see my optic nerve is swollen on the right side.

He explained that it’s possible MS. I am currently waiting for my MRI head and spine it should be done within a week, but I’m getting crazy.

Since that appointment I’m getting weird cramps on both my legs and weird feeling in my legs specially at night like pins and needles.

I don’t know if it’s just my brain playing on me for reading different articles about MS or it’s real. It went to that point that I was reading about hot bath test and I literally took a really hot bath at 3 in the morning because I couldn’t sleep, to see if I have any worsening symptoms. I love hot baths and always take them almost every day and nothing was happening after them.

Apart from my arm/leg and eye that is not confirmed by eye casualty just said by my neurologist and Specsavers and the symptoms after neuro appointment which I mentioned before, I don’t have anything else, symptoms wise.

:cry::cry:

I am sorry that you are having such a worrying time. At least things seem to be moving pretty briskly, so I hope you get some answers soon.

We’ve all done the bath thing, whether accidentally or deliberately. It’s not by any means the most sophisticated or accurate way of figuring out what’s going on, though. MRI’s and clinical history and exam tend to be better. It’s the accumulation of good quality evidence that you’re interested in - there isn’t necessarily a single diagnostic Aha! moment.
