Biotin

Hi, I saw my consultant on Thursday, and other than saying there was little he could do, he sugessted taking Biotin.100mg 3 times a day. He said he had other patients that it seemed to work for. He suggested https://www.bulksupplements.com/ as a good place to get it.

I am a 50 yr old with PP MS, mobility and balance being major issues. Along with the usual I have a useless right leg and foot drop.

Anyway, this is where I need your help/input. How do I measure out 100mg from a bag of 25g and then what is the best way to take it?

Thanks

Spacejacket on here will be along shortly to help you i would think, shes been taking Biotin for a few years now.

Take a look at this thread.

Hello,

The symptoms you list are very familiar to me. I am 63 with PPMS.

I have only been using Biotin for two weeks which means I cannot report any benefits yet, but I will stick at it and see what comes of it. I also take CBD paste and follow the OMS Jelinek diet.

I use the following spoon which I obtained from Amazon. One level scoop called Smidgeon is the equivalent of 100mgs.

I found this out by joining the Biotin closed group on Facebook. It has many downloadable files about doses, measuring doses and obtaining the powder.

The source you use is fine but I use PureBulk. The postage from the USA is very cheap.

Best of luck

Alun

Hi Jon, I started 300 mg of Biotin daily on 5th Jan. I have had significant improvement in my energy and walking in just the past few weeks! My walking has become so much easier and my gait is not nearly so laboured. Of course my muscle strength isn’t great after about 8 years of bad mobility and I get a bit wobbly, but I’m hoping to build up those muscles by daily walking up and down long corridor outside my flat. I can now do it without using handrail (I live in sheltered housing).

My energy levels are loads better too and I don’t feel overwhelmed with fatigue… but what is probably more extraordinary is my ability to recover from tiredness. I can have an exhausting day, which a month ago would have put me in bed for a few days, and now I can wake up in the morning recovered.

I actually dissolve the 300 mg of Biotin in spring water in a mason jug (approx half a pint) and sip it throughout the day. This is NOT what they did in the trials but I had read on the Facebook page that a couple of other people were doing it so I gave it a go and certainly seems to be working for me.

I bought it from TrafaRx.com in the States but do join the Facebook page and read of others experiences and ask questions.

Best of luck with it,

Pat xx (Diagnosed MS in 2008 and PPMS in 2010… 63 years old).

Hi Jon,

I started taking biotin over a year ago and my walking has improved beyond measure, unfortunately I can’t say it’s improved my fatigue levels but like Pat I do seem to recover from bad days much quicker than I used too.

Also like Pat I get mine fromTrafarx.com…if you do order from them you should ask them to mark the package for medical use and that way you will avoid paying Duty.

I can’t recommend it highly enough! Good luck if you do try it!

Take care,

Nina
