It has made me cautious to the point of paranoid and if I suspect unidentified callers of being up to no good, I can’t be held responsible for my foul language!
I got a phone call as well, saying press 1 to delete the transactions, so just put the phone down, as it’s a scam, if you press 1, you would have a huge telephone bill, also don’t have an account with them. These people try everything, I have been plagued with these phone calls over the past week, so someone has sold our number on, and we are ex directory as well! Like the previous message I am now paranoid about picking up the phone and using our phone.
Our account was hacked on Ebay, got themoney back eventually after working out the difference due to the exchange rate. Chinese hacker, never used Ebay since! I find the other place far more helpful if you ever have a problem. (Which is rare, although I did accidentally bought a £129 book once! lol) I had been looking at it, must have accidentally hi the 'buy now button while scrolling!
My advice would be to never trust incoming phone calls. If necessary, tell them you’ll call them back, and then ring back on the number stated on their website.
My 84 year old mum keeps getting the A one odd really as she has no account or computer.
One I had was from BT allegedly telling me there was everything under the sun wrong with my broadband including non payment of my bill. I wouldn’t use BT if you paid me so just hung up.
There’s so many scams out there , I’ve had amazon scammers email me numerous times , I also received a phone call on the landline warning me about a threat to amazon account etc , the funny thing is Ive only given my mobile number to Amazon , so the fact that they’ve called me on my landline was just ridiculous. There’s also a DPD scam doing the rounds at the moment where they state that they’ve attempted to deliver your parcel & then they ask you for further details & payment, another scam is a HMRC scam , allegedly stating that you are eligible for a tax rebate ! It’s always best to ignore messages/emails and call the organisation directly if you ever need reassurance.
Had this a lot recently. Emails and phone calls. Their is a number you can text to add yourself to the mobile phone version of TPS (telephone preference service) I’ll see if I can find it and post it. My wife had had 6 phone calls from a well known bank apparently. Last time they said they were from the bank then they said they were actually the police, it’s ridiculous.
