I wanted to share something and also hear from others who might be going through the same thing. For the past few months, I’ve been noticing some strange symptoms, and after reading a lot online, anxiety seems to be the closest match.
Some of the symptoms I experience are:
What makes it confusing is that sometimes everything feels “normal,” and then suddenly these feelings hit without any clear trigger. I’ve noticed stress, lack of sleep, and too much screen time seem to make it worse.
I’m trying small changes like better sleep, light exercise, and cutting down caffeine, but progress feels slow. I’m curious to know how others deal with anxiety symptoms in daily life.
Have you experienced similar signs?
What actually helped you manage them long term?
Looking forward to hearing real experiences.

Hi @marrycharli105 . Unfortunately anxiety ( and depression) can be part of the territory of MS. From what I know, we can get lesions in those parts of the brain that have a direct impact on regulation of ‘ mental health’ and many of us , including me, just experience general anxiety about having an unpredictable chronic condition. I’ve been taking low dose Citalopram for many years now .
Fatigue could well be one of those annoying symptoms of MS !
Have you tried any like Mindfulness to calm/ slow down and relax your mind . Could help?
I recognise many of your experiences. I now don’t drink tea/coffee any later than 2-3 in the afternoon which helps with sleep. I’ve also found myself doing relatively vigorous exercise after lying sleepless for hours at night which seems to help. Screen time before bed is definitely not helpful
You mention ‘stress’. In the past I’ve found it helpful to get Counselling to deal with ‘stressful’ events and periods. For me, just being able to talk about e.g the declining health and eventual death of my Dad, certainly helps
