Hi All,

Feeling pretty low today. I am waiting for another call from the Esa people and all i want to do is close my eyes and go back to sleep. So fatigued today yet again and dont need this crap off DWP :frowning:

I did apply to go into the other group (cant remember what its called now) but not heard nowt off them. Quel supprise eh! So wondering , how do i force myself into the group that they just leave you alone? Really stressed with it all and to top it off I have not heard anything back from PIP. I rung them yesterday and apparentlty its being ‘processed’ still ;( Just feel there is no way to stop this bullying from the goverment now! they wont be happy til we all top ourselves!

just dont understand hoq intelligent people can treat vulnerable people like us, like this?

Hi Anna,

Today is probably not the best day to bombard you with information or questions but you can read this tomorrow when you might feel a bit perkier.

Were you awarded ESA Work Related Activity Group and have asked for this decision to be looked at again?

To get into the support group you basically need to score 15 points on just one of the descriptors (Eg walking, bladder control, sitting and standing) I can only walk a few meters so I guess that I scored 15 on that question alone and got into the Support Group.

The first step in getting things changed is to request that the DWP look at their decision again, this is called a mandatory reconsideration. You can include additional information at this stage that may help the decision maker to look again in a more thorough way but you can’t introduce new symptoms. I have researched but can find no time limit that the DWP must respond to this request.

When they do respond if you are still unhappy with the decision you need to lodge an appeal with: HMCTS SSCS Appeals Centre, PO Box 1203, BRADFORD BD1 9WP.

You need to send a copy of the mandatory consideration with the appeal on form SSCS1 (Google it to download a copy). You have 28 days from the date on the mandatory reconsideration to lodge your appeal. If you try to appeal without the mandatory reconsideration it will be returned so you can’t miss out that step. Time limits for the DWP to respond to an appeal will be introduced in October this year but at the moment there aren’t any

It’s a tarradiddle I know, but try to think of it as a process with definite steps, not a fight with the government. If you have more questions – happy to help if I can.

Hi Anna, I am so sorry to read how low you are and quite rightly, feeling bullied by the govt.

When I had to fill my esa forms in a few months back, I was upset, mad, swearing…like you…felt it was just so damned unfair that we have to go thru all this debacle to get what we justly deserve.

My son in law heard my vent and tried to explain how he saw the excercise. Let me tell you how he put it;

Look Poll. I know you should/will get whats right for you BUT there are so many xxxx shirkers/benefit cheats out there, that it is unfortunate that you and others like you, have to go through this in order to weedle the wrong uns out. If you get put in the work group, you MUST appeal....as they will have made a mistake. Just try to grit your teeth and do what you have to.

I hope his words help you, as they did me.

Now regards your words they wont be happy until weve topped ourselves.........please try not to think like that...............were NOT going to top ourselves for their convenience and to be absolutely honest, darlin`, I really dont think that would make them happy. Honest I dont chick.

much luv POllyxxxxx

Hi Anna, it takes forever to here about ESA. I filled in the forms in may last year, and still haven’t heard anything. Apparenty, there is no time time limit on the length of time it can take to get a decision! It sure doesn’t do our stress levels any good. Like you, i wish i was well enough to earn my money, instead of having to rely on the Government, who appear to be willing to do anything to get out of supporting disabled people. It’s disgusting and they shouldn’t get away with it. Can’t really offer you any advice, just wanted to let you know you are not alone, love Bex xxx
