......Back again!!!

Hi everyone…

Bit of advice needed…I’m still having all these weird neuro type symptoms…tingling/pins and needles in hands, arms, legs, back and face, chest pain, headaches, balance issues etc etc. I’ve found out that my B12 count is 289…Normal was 200. My GP says this is not low as is in normal range and this would not be causing these symptoms. I’ve got an appointment regarding my blood pressure and a MRI on my head next week but was just wondering if anyone thinks my B12 count could actually be causing these issues.

Many thanks for reading,

Apparently the standard B12 test isn’t very reliable or accurate so you could always ask for a more refined test that looks at specific metabolic components of B12. I’m afraid I have no idea what these are called, but your GP hopefully should! (Fwiw, other countries have very different ideas about B12 deficiency - someone once said on here that they supplement anyone with a level under 500 in Japan.)

Thanks Karen…My GP, although lovely, doesn’t seem to have much of a clue about anything neuro based and I feel like I’m educating him half the time as I’ve read so much. I think I missed my vocation as a member of the medical profession!! I’ve read that under 400 can cause widespread neurological problems and although my symptoms aren’t getting any worse…I’m not any better either which is depressing.

I will make yet another appointment!!! I feel like I live in doctors surgeries and hospitals at the moment!
