I am new here, so hopefully this is the right place to post!
I was diagnosed with optic neuritis January 2012. I had a brain MRI at the time that showed multiple lesions and was referred to a neuro and MS nurse.
Over the last year and a half I have had episodes of severe fatigue, sore eye and continued headaches above the eye. My neuro at the time told me that this episode could take 18months to fully resolve. However, starting this year, I have had numbness in my foot that seems to come on with heat. Also the skin all down my thigh feels different. Although this has been like it for over a year and doesn’t bother me that much, I have noticed that recently it seems to get worse with exercise. I have been referred back to the neuro twice and have had another MRI with contrast (last week). I’m not sure if all of this is related to the initial optic neuritis episode and will go away with time or not.
The emotional side of this is affecting me quite a bit, even though I know that a lot of people have it much worse than this. I’m not sure if this is normal. I am a teacher and am finding it quite challenging to keep up with work, especially with the fatigue and have had a number of absences.
I am now awaiting the results of this MRI.
Has anyone else had anything similar?! I know this might be quite benign compared to a lot of symptoms.
