Hello, I have been suffering with symptoms (fatigue, leg pain and tightness, tingling and blurred vision) for a few years. Doctors refused to scan me or take action for over five years until this year when I was having blurred vision and pain around my eye and read about possibility of ms. I have since had two brain mri scans, spine mri and lumbar puncture which have all come back clear. I still asked for a referral to neurology in case this was something else as everything is clear but I have today, received a letter to attend an ms clinic? I’m just confused about this. Has anyone else been referred to the clinic with clear scans etc? very worried. Thanks
Are you saying that you haven’t actually seen a neurologist yet?
If it is a referral to see a neurologist then the neurologist maybe has a special interest in MS and is working from the clinic on that day.
A while back I got referred to a neurologist who was a movement disorder specialist and the clinic was at the Campus for Ageing and Vitality. I was lacking in vitality, I guess, though not how I’d have described my condition, and I cringed at the ‘ageing’ label. The next visit to the same consultant was at the neurology dept at the main hospital. It was just where she was working for those particular appointment slots. There were a few young people patients also waiting in the Campus for Ageing and Vitality centre, and I bet they found it strange to be referred there!
All the best with the appointment.
Thank you
