Are you?

Hello guys.
1st December and time for the tree and deccies to come out of the loft.

Hubby has always been a fan, but each year, I’ve found it harder and harder to do them. My left arm is so weak now, that I have noticed the difference in the weight of some deccies. It upset me that I cant put the effort in so much. Dropped so many baubles and bits.

Anyway, happy decorating those of you who still do it!
Boudsxx

I still do this. It’s a tradition that remains forever.

Bah! Humbug! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

SWMBO started watching awful Christmas movies a couple of weeks ago. Roll on January!

Hi,
Always put them up but fewer and fewer each year.
Celebratory sherry when the tree lights are switched on.
Seasons greetings.

Can you not be the artistic director?

I like Ziola’s idea!

I gave up my live tree the year AFTER the non-resident kids were “too busy” to help me get it. After wrestling that thing into my car and then up 4 steps into the house by myself, I swore never again. I still prefer the smell of pine, but I have a nice little waist-high artificial that’s all in one piece. I put the lights on it the first year, and it just stays like that year-round. It’s small enough to cover with a big garbage bag when I’m not using it, and I can carry it by myself if I have to.

Other than draping some artificial greenery across the front porch, with red velvet bows at the posts, that’s the extent of my decorating.

I always loved it, but I’m like Bouds. Just can’t do it any more.

Well speaking about dropping bits, the funniest thing I ever saw was hubby trying to pretend he didn’t fall down the escalator in Woolies (no harm) with 4 boxes of baubles and tinsel draped round his neck, bit a Frank Crawford moment! Didn’t damage anything except his pride!..Tree looked great all new decs, we were in Cyprus and hadn’t been able to take our tree (not enough room)

Like Christmas but hate the hassle - decorating - taking them down again, the weather, having to spend time with people you don’t like but happy Christmas to all my fellow MSers…
