Are headaches normal???

I had ON last year and my eyesight is fully recovered but I am recently experiencing mild headaches around my forehead and some eye pain as well for longer than a week. Sometimes it feels like my head is being squeezed. I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this because I keep overthinking that it will be something worse.

Some years back (prior to my MS diagnosis), I had a series of what they considered to be idiopathic TIA’s. My neuro now believes they were just weird symptoms of the MS during an exacerbation.

One of the consistent issues was eye discomfort accompanied by a ring of equal pressure the whole way around my head.

Since no one was really sure what was happening with me, I’d suggest discussing the problem with a doctor that you trust. It’s probably “just” the MS, but better safe than sorry.

I am suffering with headaches really often but I also suffer from migraines so I think it’s linked with them.

@NorasMom How long did your pain last for?

The eye pain would last for a couple days at a time, but the head pressure was anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 hours. I’d be okay for several days to a couple weeks, then it would all start again.

Hi, I get headaches a lot, sometimes mild, sometimes severe, I also get a lot of eye pain, I have ever since having iritis in 1990, 1 neuro gave me idometacin for it to help reduce inflammation, it does help. I personally thing a lot of things we get with MS are difficult to diagnose, because MS is such a complex condition.

@greenhouse How long are your headaches for and where does it hurt?

it’s mainly mild pain on the right side of my head

Mine is always on the right side of my head, they are mostly mild, but can last from a day, to a fortnight, they generally start in my eye, hence the meds I was given, as the neuro thought they were due to inflammation, sometimes it helps, other time’s not, my main side to be effected by MS and by the way I have SPMS, is my right side, I started with these headaches well before I was diagnosed. Hope this helps, you take care.
