Hi Everyone
I hope you are coping as much as possible with whatever this illness through at you.
The company I’m working for has been partially sold and became a part of a bigger group 2 years ago. Now there are requirements to compete the annual appraisal. The last one I have done was more than 10 years ago and before I have been diagnosed.
I’m already doing as much as I can. I would like my salary to be increased in line is inflation of nothing else, but I do not thing I could take on much more work or taken on further qualifications. To be honest, my main concern is to be able to work till my retirement which is still 10 years away.
Does anyone have any advice how to tackle and / or approach this, please? What was your experience like?
Thank you and have a great weekend

@Gemini Hi there, the words “annual appraisal” just fill with with dread don’t they, luckily the company I’m with now don’t do them!
Previous company, I just used to say along the lines of "I enjoy the role I currently undertake and my main ambitions are to continue to work at my best ability in the same role, adapting to changes and new working conditions as when required. I do not feel at this time, it is necessary for me to progress to a higher position or undertake further qualifications, but would not rule it out further in the future "
Repeat with slightly different words each year
I am another one, just getting through the next 10 years or so!

Hi Cavword, thank you for your help with the wording. Much appreciated.
I just need to get on with completing both forms, I can’t avoid it neither fight it. Just unnecessary stress I could do without.
Thank you

I understand how stressful appraisals can feel, especially when you’re already doing your best. Now i also completed my 1 year let see what will happened
My understanding is that appraisals need to conform to the Equalty Act, that is, they need to follow your reasonable adjustments. An appraisal may be the time to get this straight.
